Wow, were do we start off
the story about how Fanvasion came about? Let's just start at the
beginning...
All of our lives we have been involved with music. Music was highly influenced
in our family and we grew up in the early 90's, in Georgia, where music seemed
to be at it's highest. With TLC, Janet, Paula Abdul and
many more all we did was go to our nearest roller rink and dance to the latest
tunes with all our friends.
In the fall of 2000, we finally got into working with music and took it more
seriously. We then started an online weekly newsletter for an upcoming local band. We didn't realize how strongly it was growing with over a
100 new members a week, which not only helped with us but, only gained more
popularity to the already soaring group. By the summer of 2001 we were
approached with the idea of creating our own magazine for upcoming artist. With
the love of music, web designing, and promoting artist we thought it was a great
idea and actually a thought we had in the back of our heads for quite some
times. After much hard work and dedication, it all began to take off.
As we were thinking of names and actually listening to the new Britney Spears
album we thought.. "hey why not Bombastic Magazine?". Then we thought of two
things, 1) running a magazine with the title of a Britney Spears song and
2) we looked it up and Bombastic actually means "meaningless." Now, what would
be the point of a magazine that was called meaningless?
We then
stayed up all night to think of a title with a LOT of meaning and something that
would sound fresh and new. That's when we thought of Invasion Magazine, since we
wanted a magazine that would totally be for the fans and how much they have to
do with music. Our mother actually suggested Fanvasion. For FANS to
INVADE the music. So in the winter of 2001, Fanvasion was established. It
was hard to believe at 14 and 16 that we were running our own magazine.
It's been almost 7 years since Fanvasion was created, and it grows by the
day. With more and more visitors, more and more interviews, and many more
upcoming artist, we have tons of fun doing it all.
Fanvasion has become a major chunk in our lives, it takes time, effort,
passion and hard work and you know what? It's all worth it.

DEDICATE FANVASION TO OUR HERO
